i FINALLY remembered to get this! i’ve just been listening to it over and over on spotify. every time i listen to her it brings me such a sadness that she’ll never make music again but i hope wherever she is, she’s at peace. i adore her forever and always.
recently got back in touch with the friend who introduced me to these guys years ago. reminded me of how much i love this band and how much i love this song in particular.
her last recording of ‘body and soul’ with tony bennett kills me. it’s so very lovely.

i’ve been really busy lately so i haven’t update my tumblr at all in the past few days… don’t worry, i will be back on it soon. for now though i want to make a little post im memorial of amy winehouse because i loved her and adored her so very much.
i know a lot of people didn’t like her and a lot of people focused on her issues but i really never cared about that. i don’t know much about her life, the downward spiral or anything with blake but i knew everything about her music because that was the part of her i loved. i even wore my hair in a beehive (much less large and messy) for awhile haha. everyone is pretending to have loved her now, that she was a great influence, that she was a genius and all of this only because she’s gone now but i always believe this about her. it’s just a shame no one could see that and protect that while she was alive.
i love the album frank but back to black changed my life. i would put it on my top five albums, no lie. that album got me through some of the worst times of my life and i wished for so long she would come back and make something great again. that’s the real sadness for me, that not only is she gone but her music is gone, she will never make something new again and it’s so sad to know that. she may have had millions of problems and sometimes have been a hot mess but her music was still beautiful and soulful and real. love her or hate her, you can’t deny that and she will truly be missed.
